  1. Is your First Aid/CPR/AED Training WSIB approved?
    YES! Northern Winds TEC is a certified Canadian Red Cross Training Partner. Our Trainers are also certified by the Canadian Red Cross. Certification is valid for 3 years. Re-certification courses are also available upon request.
  2. How do I register and pay for a course? What are the course fees?
    To register for a course, or to find a course, click on the Find A Course tab. Select your course and follow the online registration process. We accept email money transfers, credit or cash payment. *All courses require full payment at registration.
  3. Is your Food Safety Training different from others offered?
    Our Food Safety Training was developed by TrainCan Inc. It is nationally recognized and exceeds competitors offerings. Basics.fst (food safety training) is delivered by a Certified TrainCan Inc. Instructor. Advanced.fst (food safety training) is delivered by a Certified TrainCan Inc. Instructor. Basics.fst and Advanced.fst Certification is valid for 5 years.
  4. What if I have to cancel my registration or I miss the class?
    A full refund will be issued if a notice to cancel and a request for refund is received by Northern Winds Training TEC at least 7 days before the course begins. Otherwise, an administration fee of 50% of the total course fee will be charged. · There will be no refunds for individuals who do not show up for the course, those who drop out of the course, or those who fail. If an individual does not show up for a course due to special circumstances, a one time rescheduling opportunity may be offered. *special circumstances are defined as, (but are not limited to), family emergency, medical emergency, or other reasons to be deemed valid at the sole discretion of Northern Winds TEC.
  5. SMART Serve Ontario is offered online, why should I take it in class with you?
    At Northern Winds Tec we understand that people learn in different ways. Our in class (paper based) SMART Serve Ontario training and certification is interactive and engaging! An in class training session is a great way for employers and organizations to get everyone certified in one day. Contact us at [email protected] for more information.
  6. Why would I need Food Safety Training?
    Believe it or not, food safety training is needed for many different workplaces! Grocery store employees, serving staff, daycare workers, group home workers, hospital employees, teachers, social services agencies, small business owners, remote camp workers are just some of the career paths that require food safety training. Plus, having food safety training increases your employability and you learn skills that will benefit your entire family!

  8. I need to get my certification within a few days for work, are you able to run a class with short notice?
    In most cases we are able to accommodate requests for training with short notice. We have flexible schedules and can offer evening courses, weekend you don't have to take time off work or school to get your certification! Contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
